In addition to the support opportunities and services available to higher degree research (HDR) students from QUT and Faculty sources, IHBI also provides a range of supports and services to assist throughout their studies.
Statistics and research methods assistance
IHBI's Research Methods groups provides regular workshops to IHBI researchers and students on frequently asked statistical problems. Got a question? Bring it along to one of their workshops. A drop in service is available for one-on-one assistance.
Grant and journal writing workshops
IHBI offers a range of grant and journal writing workshops which are open to researchers and IHBI students. At these workshops a number of senior IHBI researchers share advice based on their experiences.
Research seminars and events
Come and learn from the experts. IHBI holds fortnightly research seminars featuring IHBI researchers from our five research domains as well as visiting researchers, such as the NHMRC IHBI Australia Fellows Seminar Series. Scholarship top ups
IHBI provides a number of scholarship top ups each year on a competitive basis to our HDR students to assist students with their expenses.

Postgraduate Student Conference
Each year IHBI holds the IHBI Inspires Postgraduate Student Conference, which provides a supportive forum for IHBI students to develop their conference presentation skills. Students are offered a range of professional development opportunities at this Conference including oral presentations, poster presentations, as well as joining the Conference Organising Committee.
