| IHBI researchers within the Vision Improvement Domain are at the forefront of research on advanced vision correction, prevention of myopia (short sightedness), development of ophthalmic devices and collaborative research to prevent injury, improve eye health, and improve health services.
The Vision Improvement Domain fosters the advancement of human vision correction involving lens prescribing techniques, advanced lens materials and manufacturing.
Myopia Research examines the formation of the retinal image using physical, psychophysical, electrophysiological and histological techniques to assess responses in humans.
Ophthalmic Devices will involve software for analysis of ocular aberrations, holographic devices for vision assessment, night vision systems, (with an emphasis on the application to vision and driving, eye movement and monitoring).
